A Little More Grounded
Hiking / Treking / Walking
The French Alps are any hikers dream, offering challenging yet highly rewarding routes. There are plenty of books and maps available locally detaIling walking routes in this particularly scenic part of the Alps. Guides can be hired to take you on longer hikes that will leave you exhausted but strangely relaxed! Enjoy the Alpine Flora and Fauna during your trek and (if you don't consider it cheating) you can stop into one of the many mountain restaurants which remain open over the summer months.
There are a host of golf Courses around Morzine, including the Royal Park Championship Course in Evian which is only a 40 minute drive down the valley. Closer to home there is an 18 hole par 70 course at Les Gets, an 18 hole course in Chamonix and a 9 hole par 36 course in Avoriaz.
There are over 6 courts at the Palais du Sports.
Here's one for the children! You guide your child's donkey up to a mountain cheese making farm (don't worry, you will have a group guide as well!), where you will be introduced to cheesemaking and take in the views from the top!
Get pumped up with adrenaline and go fight it out in the 100 year old forest that borders the Dranse River! Open to families but children must be 14 and over.
Bring your board along and show your skills! The Park is beside the Palais du Sports and free to use!
Wining and Dining
For a reasonably small town Morzine offers a big selection of restaurants and bars. There are also a number of fast food shacks around the town, serving up crepes, pizzas, burger., after all, following a day's hard activities you'll deserve some calorific delights!
